REDUCTION IN ELECTRICAL ENERGY CONSUMPTION WITH THE USE OF LAMPS LED ON A CORE OF POULTRY RECREAT

In agribusiness of birds production the eletricity is the second cost, second only to food. Thus, to remain competitive in the national and international scene, the use of energy management is indispensable. An action that was taken by the analyzed agribusiness, was the replacement of incandescent bulbs with LED bulbs in order to obtain lower prices for electricity. This study compared two sheds of cutting bird´s with different lamps installed, incandescent and LED. The results showed that the number of lamps currently installed in the sheds no light suggested to provide the proper growth of the chicks. Also showed that investments are needed R $ 3,160.00 in incandescent or R $ 18,756.00 in LED lamps to suit the lighting systems to the technical recommendations. As a conclusion of this study was found to economic viability in the use of LED lamps, since the purchase price for electricity consumption would be only 12.4% of the amount spent to incandescent bulbs.
